POLICIES

1. Cancellation

For cancellations or reschedules made 24 hours in advance, there is no penalty. For cancellations or reschedules made 12 - 24 hours in advance of your appointment, you will be charged 50% of the cost of your session. Any cancellations, reschedules, or no-shows under a 12 hour timeframe will result in being charged the full amount of the session. If you are not feeling well and need to reschedule, we request for you to please contact us as soon as possible. If you are concerned you may be getting sick, you are encouraged to be extra cautious and reschedule ahead of time.

2. Late Arrival

Client agrees to arrive on time or early to their massage appointment. Due to the nature of massage therapy scheduling it is important that clients honor the time that the therapist agrees to make for the massage in order to accommodate future appointments, appropriate sanitization procedures, and overall respect for services provided. Should a client run into an unusual circumstance, they should call or text their therapist to let them know they are running behind. If the client is continually late for sessions, the therapist has the right to terminate the client/therapist relationship. Clients agree to pay full price for the session should they be tardy.

3. Cleanliness & Preparedness

Client agrees to arrive clean, free from dirt/debris, and without strong aromas such as body odor, cigarette smoke, heavy perfume, and other neurotoxins. Client also agrees to arrive free from the influence of non-prescribed drugs or alcohol.

4. Vital Information

Client agrees to share vital information about their health insofar as it relates to their ability to receive massage. This includes but is not limited to recent/current injuries, surgeries, medications, conditions, diseases, and infections. This allows greater health, safety, and welfare for both the client and the practitioner.

5. Information Privacy

All personal information will be protected according to HIPAA standards.

6. Massage Therapy Scope and Limitations

Any advice given to you is only advice and not a medical diagnosis. Movements, stretches, and other techniques are meant to be helpful additions to the client's wellbeing. Clients should first and foremost trust themselves as it relates to their sensations, limitations, and discomfort and heed the advice of licensed medical healthcare providers for diagnoses and treatments. Clients should always feel comfortable seeking the advice of their licensed medical professional if they are concerned with their ability to receive massage.

7. Right to Defer

Massage therapy is often wonderful medicine. However, there are occasions when massage therapy or certain massage modalities are contraindicated. Should clients experience a symptom during a massage or is dealing with a condition that massage is not suited for, it is the massage therapists ethical obligation to defer the client to the appropriate medical provider. There may be instances where the session may have to end due to a symptom, or the massage therapist may ask for a doctors referral for massage before massage therapy can ethically be performed.

8. Communication

The client is invited to speak up about modifying their massage, be it: Temperature of the room, music selection or volume, temperature of the table, aromatherapy, light quality/brightness, area being addressed, depth or pace of massage, treatment plan, and so on. This allows the therapist to create an optimal environment for your massage and allows for individual boundaries and needs to be honored.

9. Nonsexual Massage Policy

Professional massage is therapeutic and non-sexual in nature and any inappropriate behavior on the clients part will result in an immediate termination of the session and the client will be responsible for paying the full cost of the session.

10. Policy Regarding Transmissible Diseases

Clients agree to notify the practitioner before their session should they be concerned about any transmissible disease, included, but not limited to Covid-19. Clients agree to stay home should they feel ill and will not attend their massage if they test positive for Covid, have any flu-like symptoms, or fever. Clients will notify the practitioner should they have chronic transmissible conditions that need continued care. Clients understand that due to the current transmissibility of Covid-19 and other diseases, that there are inherent risks in close contact activities such as receiving massages. Clients understand and choose to receive care with knowledge of these risks.
